"Vulture Culture" Original Graphite Illustration

The worms go in, the worms go out. The worms, in this case, being the darlings of osteology and skeletal preparation, the ever-consuming dermestid beetle. These dermestids and their larvae, weaving in and around the underside of a domestic cat skull, are based on a colony of dermestes talpinus I kept when I first took up skeletal preparation as a hobby. They work hard, keep quiet, and make for a very utilitarian pet.

This is a one-of-a-kind original graphite illustration on Yupo paper. It is framed in a vintage-esqe frame, backed with soft crushed velvet, and ready to adorn your walls. Frame measures 8" x 10", area within the glass measures 4.25" x 6.25". A little treat for your gallery wall and eyes alike.
