Colored Pencil 101 (In-Person Class)

Are you looking to dabble in a new art medium this summer? Or perhaps you've already tried colored pencils, but would like some tips to take it to the next level? Maybe you just want to hang with some like-minded art nerds while drawing something weird and wonderful? Say no more.

This class will teach you some of the tips and tricks I use when illustrating with colored pencil. I'll be covering everything from brands and types of colored pencil, the pros and cons of various papers, a run down of assorted tools that make working with colored pencils easier, and much more. Participants will have the opportunity to try different kinds of pencils and tools while practicing their skills on a selection of vanitas-themed still life tableaus, featuring some of the macabre and gothic objects and oddities from my own cabinet of curiosities. All levels of artistic skill are welcome, and there will be plenty to learn for both beginners and more advanced artists alike.

WHAT'S INCLUDED:
This class includes three hours of in-depth discussion, including a hands-on still life drawing session. You will have the opportunity to try different brands of pencils, different papers, and various tools, all while practicing your technique on a selection of unique vanitas tableaus. There are two ticket tiers:

-"PRISMACOLOR" tickets: the full class with all hands-on learning and drawing time
-"CARAN D'ACHE" tickets: all the full hands-on learning and drawing time, plus a goodie bag featuring a selection of my favorite colored pencil supplies, should you wish to practice your new skills at home
