"Psychopomp II" 11"x14" Art Print
$25.00
A psychopomp is an entity that guides deceased souls to what lies beyond. Bearing no judgement towards the deceased and where they would ultimately find themselves, psychopomps often took the forms of creatures seen as omens of death, such as various types of birds and snakes. Here, a psychopomp is depicted peering from a rose bruised by creeping time. It shows the soul's way with thorny hands entwined by rotting blackberries, their sweetness marred by a soft gray coat of mold.
